Armistice Day Parade
Newmilns

The remembrance day activities started with a march through Newmilns with the band performing. Along with the band, various other organisation such as the scouts, firemen etc. marched as well. The service and laying of the wreaths took place in the morton hall as the weather was very poor. Colin Ferguson played the last post while Douglas Cameron played Revallie. The band also played the American national anthem while the firemen laid their wreath in memory of the people killed in America. The band then marched back to the church again playing at the head of the parade. Similar services were also held in Cumnock and Mauchline, where Douglas Cameron played the played the last post at Mauchline War Memorial as did Erin Campbell at Cumnock Cenotaph.

The annual fund raising event went fine and was an enjoyable (and profitable) social day for the band. The band would like to give many thanks to all those who helped with the event, including members of the Dunaskin Doon Band who came along and participated. Their contribution was very much welcome. Also a big thanks as always to the Barr Castle Social Club staff and members who put up with us all day. Thank you.
