The Best cornet instrumentalist went to Douglas Cameron

The above event turned out to be a highly successful night in which both the audience and the Band enjoyed. The Band would like to thank the organisers for the invitation to Gourock.

National Finals
Caird Hall, Dundee Get Directions to Caird Hall, Dundee
The Band was placed a rather disappointing 11th Place out of 18 in the Second section of the above contest. However, due to the Band's success in the previous Scottish Regional Championships, the Band has now been promoted to compete in the First Section of the forthcoming Scottish Championships in March.

The band were awarded the 2nd section prize, while Solo Horn player Mhairi Holmer was awarded the senior soloist prize and the band were placed 3rd overall with 184 points in the Brass in the Park contest held in Newtongrange on Saturday 30th August 2003.

Carnegie Durnfermline Trust Contest
The Band emerged as winners of the 2nd section with a total of 192 points. Douglas Cameron also took the prize for Best Instrumentalist after a beautiful rendition of My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose. The band also took the prize Entertainment Prize making it a clean sweep of all the prizes on offer at the contest.

The Band performed for the Ayrshire Amateur Cup Final which saw Galston United v Newmilns Vesuvius.

The Band gave a winning performance of Wilfred Heaton's Celestial Prospect which saw them placed 1st in the Second Section with 95 points - a 2 point lead from the runners up.
